Distortion Research

My 175 photos on the bus inspired me to look into distortion. It's really broad and already I've found loads of related stuff. I like the idea of physical distorting the body, or a distorted view of the body. Viki told me about Linder Sterling to look at after Dave Haslem talked about her work in the lecture she went to. She is known for her photomontage incorporating images portraying women as comodoties, such as porn/advertising, with images of household objects. But the image I'm most interested in is the one below as it physically distorts the face with clear film. Craig McDean, a fashion/beauty photographer pays homage to Linder in a 2009 shoot with Kristen Stewart for Interview magazine.
The condensation on the window in my images reminds me of Hans Haacke's 'Condensaton Cube'.
Diane Archer's 'Cling Film' series looks at the naked body distorted/protected/suffocated? by cling film.
Wes Namen looks at physically distorting the faces of his willing friends with Scotch Tape, consequently minipulating and changing the shape.
