Distortion Through Grease Proof Paper

I have been playing around with greaseproof paper as we decided as a group to use it as a starting material. It is translucent so I thought I could photograph things behind it. I asked my group during our meeting last week hold it in front of their faces and as you can see it kind of works, but not as well as I had hoped. Katie's on the top right was the most successful. You can make out her features from the shadows around them which is looks really good. The others have too much shadow from the silhouettes so aren't as effective. I tried to use the light coming in through the window which I think helped. I also played around with  different areas of my body which I think are really successful. Wearing striped leggings makes my legs look really visible. These were taken just sat at the table during the meeting so I didn't use the direct sunlight as much and I think they look better for it. I really like this technique but now my ideas have developed into wanting to physically distort and manipulate the body as opposed to distorting through obstruction/camera technique. However I am not ruling it out as an option.
